Default oil on MAP Sensor

I have a 04 quadcab sport, 4.7 with 88000 miles. I changed the MAP sensor and noticed a little oil on the old one. Could this be a sign of a plenum gasket
failure or something else?

pull the intake off and see if theres oil on the top of the tb. Id wonder if you pulled it thru the crank vent hose

It most likely came threw the vent. I know our 95 jeep which had 216,000 miles the tb was never touched and when I took it off it was blackened like it was covered with burnt oil but I cleaned it up really good and runs awesome and better mpg too

Thanks for the quick replies. I checked the manual to see what is involved in pulling the intake. I think, due to time and lack of shade, I'll pull the new map sensor first to see if it too has oil on it. If it does I'll have to get the portable garage up and pull the intake.
Thanks again.
