maybe with like a diesil or high output 5.9 or a older carbeurated engine in rare cases.

The 4.7 doesnt even run close to that hot let alone the 3.9 v6.

The only heat issue that can cause a blow out is if your breaks are seizing.

maybe if you ran the pipe nexto the tire but i cant belive the exhaust gas could do that. ive driven 10hrs straight with no problems.

my tip was covered in surface rust. i used turtle waxs bug and tar remover with a paint safe scrudding pad. after that just buff it with a dry cloth till its shiny again.

I just recently changed my whole exauhst setup I haven't had a chance to get pics up yet though been busy with work but anyways I have side pipes with glass packs on my 5.9 and surprisingly its not that loud unless I'm wot . Performance wise I lost some of my low end torque but I have made up for it in the mid and high range haven't had a chance to get it to the track due to needing bushings and balljoints but to and from work I have noticed the change in power and I trully believe it has leveled it out accross the power bands. And it looks nice too I get compliments on it constantly in the last 2 weeks since I have had them on there .

IMO, dumped exhaust sounds like crap, at least inside the cab, it's all noise and no tone..

My favorite exhaust is side exit, looks and sounds great.

I do also have a quad cab. I wonder if it would bother a passenger who would be getting in and out near it. Not that I have passengers back there that often though. Usually it's just me and the wife when she doesn't insist on taking her Puh Puh Puh Prius lol

I have decided that I am definitely not interested in going dumped. I did it before and liked it when I was in high school, but I have to admit, it did get annoying on long drives. I think I'll look into a polish for my chrome tip and see if that makes me feel better for the time being. Otherwise I'll look into getting it swapped to a side exit, but I'll be sure to keep it clear of the rear tire if I do. I have a pretty informed enthusiastic shop that I go to for exhaust and I think they would be able to weigh in on the concept.

Thanks for the input guys!
