Could be a vacuum leak. use carb cleaner to spray in the area. if the idle changes its a vacuum leak. check for a cracked hose or such. once repaired respray to make sure leak is fixed.

be careful carb cleaner is flameable hence changing the idle.

hope this helps

Mine hisses at well from that side, especially if I whap the throttle real quick. I haven't had the time to trace down if it's just air passing the throttle blades, or if it's the breather hose or a vacuum hose.

Magnet,

Do you have an aftermarket air intake in your truck? I'd know the answer to this if you had some info on your truck in your garage or something.

I ask because my air filter is a noisy one that creates a hiss as air passes through it. I definitely can tell it's coming from the filter. Maybe I should make sure and briefly take the filter off (very briefly lol) and see if it goes away.

I had the same problem my air box didnt get put on right by the last guy and this caused the side to bend out a little and the lid wasnt clamping down fully so air was getting past the edge of the filter and making a hissing noise.

Just the V8 throttle body, everything else is still stock. But my breather hose likes to come off the valve cover. I just havent had time to hunt for it.
