Question Engine Swap from 4.7 to 5.9

I have a 2000 Dakota with a blown 4.7 I would like to know how hard it will be to put a 5.9 from a 2000 Durango?

i doubt that anything would fit, including the sensors, wiring, or computer setup. i'd stick to an exact replacement.

Your going to need wiring and computer from the durango. Are you keeping your 4.7 tranny or are you going with the durango tranny. I think the 4.7 tranny should fit but not 100% sure that all the holes will line up.

your in for a treat if you actually try this. You'll basically need to replace the entire driveline (except the rear end), and all of the engine wiring and electronics. a 4.7 trans will not bolt up to a 5.9. your better off buying another truck or just sticking with what you have. of all the years ive been on dakota forums, Ive only known of one 4.7 to 5.9 swap, and if I recall, it was more money than what it was worth.
