Well 10% would still be approximately 1.5 mpg increase. I'd be happy with that...

I dont think that much maybe we didnt buy ours for better mpg so if we gained anything then thats ok too but next fill up I tell my dad to keep track of miles and see how much a difference it is.

i dont want to start anything, but didnt mytbusters claim that no cover was better?

nevermind it was tailgate!

nevermind it was tailgate!
Yeah I know they tried tailgate up and down then tailgate net not sure why they didnt test cover but if you think about it tailgate down would kinda be the same as cover.

well actually just watched the episode on youtube, they ended up doing cover and it was the same as talilgate up. tailgate down was the worst and the best was the mesh thing w/o tailgate.

Their findings concluded that for some models, the tailgate was necessary to maintain it's aerodynamic characteristics and that is why there was a decline in efficiency when putting the tailgate down on the (I think) f150

it was actually on a dakota the second time around. RC probablly the 4cycl though. it looked like a pos
