I have a 2000 SLT 4.7, the a/c bearing is making noise and about to lock up. I drive my truck maybe once a month just to drive it. So I don't want to spend the cash for a new compressor but still want the truck. If I can just put a pulley in it's place that will be great. Any idea's
Go to autozone, napa, advanced and tell them you need a belt for your truck but you dont want the belt thats for a/c. You just skip the a/c pulley and thats it belt runs about 20.00
We tried to bypass the Ac on my friends truck but there was a bolt in the way that kept us from bypassing it. And on the routing diagram it didn't show a route for trucks without Ac.

with a 5.2/5.9 or a 4.7? The poster has a 4.7, I think they're a little more 'tidy'??
His has the 4.7 and I wasn't saying he couldn't get a belt.I was just saying you cant get it on there because there is bolt where the belt would run through.
