Cylinder Heads for 3.9 V6n (2001)
So the exhaust/engine noise was the oxygen sensors. $200, fixed.
Blown tire, $125 fixed.
The truck died on me a few days ago, bad crank sensor, $150 fixed. Thank god for cheap labor.
Now I get a MIL and a P0303 code (misfire on cyl 3). Guys at the shop say it's probably a bad valve seat or plenum gasket. I am sooo annoyed at this truck right now. It has under 70K miles on it. If I have to replace the heads I am seriously pondering ditching it.
I just have one question...I have a 98 with a 3.9 and a bad transmission sitting on the lot. High mileage engines, Will the heads and/or motor interchange? At the very least I could send the head off that truck to be rebuilt and still have something to drive.
Stupid truck. I am dropping it off this weekend to be looked at.
Any dire consequences if I drive it for the next month if it's a bad valve?

Yes those heads are interchangeable. Are you going through a lot of oil? If so then look at your plenum. If not, well I had the same motor and threw the same misfire codes; never did find the problem. Gave up and dropped in a 5.9l. Good luck
