I keep reading that, and i'm beginning to question how good of an idea a 250 is. I really don't want to go kill myself either...is an R6 too fast for a first bike?

your the one that determines how fast you go, not the bike...

Yes, but if my hand slips on a liter bikes, i'm up to 70+ in first gear. Know what I mean?

Powerful may be a better word.
