Contrary to popular belief "jack rabbit" starts aren't bad. Engines operate most efficiently at WOT, less pumping losses. ~85% throttle acceleration up to the speed limit/your speed without having to use the brakes is the best.

I'm going to have to look that one up.
Wide open throttle is most efficient? Maybe thats true for the engine itself - but High RPM's & low speed(starting from a dead stop) = poor MPG's

I believe there is a happy medium somewhere between 1/4 throttle and WOT. I don't think taking 5 minutes to get up to speed is effiecient but holding her wide getting up to 65 isn't exactly the best way either.Originally Posted by MadisonDakota
