Default I love my Dakota

So I have had my dakota for a little over a year and a half now and I can honestly say I love it. It is a 2002 regular cab 4x4 5 speed with the 3.9. I know only the 3.9 but it was exactly what i was looking for, the color combination and package. Its white with metallic gray fender flares. I replaced and changed all of the fluids since I bought from the trans, t case, and both diffs. I recently paid off the truck which is a big feat since I'm only 19 and in college. But anyhow, my dad had bought a 03 ford f350 powerstroke 4x4 and was wanting me to drive it back forth to college since I live at home and its a 40 mile trip everyday. While the ford is a great truck and actually gets better mileage than my dakota, I just love my dakota too much to not drive it as much. It has almost 96k miles but I strongly believe it will keep running for a long time. I've put about 15k miles on it since i bought it. If anyone has a love for thier dakota like I do, please feel free to post.

I love my Dakota too, it is a very good truck. It is like an old and trusted friend and it has never let me down or left me walking. But like anything else you love, you have to take good care of it and treat it right for it to do the same for you.

i'll post aswell.. I've had my dak for about 2 years and also put around 20k since i've had it. she has about 85k now and runs like a top. I keep up with this little truck as she keeps me very happy, oils, front rear diff oils, coolant. I always do somewhat of a walk around usually a couple times aweek just to make sure things are running they way they are supposed too..

I recently had an extreme facelift to my dak, SAS, true duels, chip, CAI, TBSpacer, all that good stuff.. I'ts a 4.7L v8 2004 and I love this truck more then anything i've ever had.

But the worst thing is Gas consumption.. since i've added these mods I've only been getting 180-200Km to a tank of fuel... Depending on how hard I drive or how heavy my foot feels lol.. thats roughly, could be +50 -50 MPG but still terribly bad.

but as for that, i love my truck!!!! Love live dakotas.

Mine has been good as well it did leave me stranded one day but I was only a 1/2 mile from the house so it wasnt that bad. Other than that its been great Only thing I dont like about it is its a auto if it were a manual I would be 100% happy with it. Im only getting 230mi on a tank of gas and gas is 2.95 here

Mine is a love/hate relationship. I love the truck, but it's had its fair share of problems...

i have had my dak since jan 2002. got it with 30k on it, ill be hitting 200k this week or the next. no complaints or regrets! we acually named our son Dakota( not because of conseption) but because of the family feeling we have for the dak. yes it is horrible on gas, but what do you want from a heavy *** truck. i am getting 330mi on a tank now a days.(quad cab with a 24 gal tank, 16.7 mpg on average) so yes, i LOVE my truck.

None the less, I plan to run this thing into the ground. I love the 4.7 and I'm curious how many miles I can squeeze out of it. 200k is a minimum for me, 250k is my goal, and 300k would be a nice achievement. It's going to take me awhile though lol. I don't put a whole lot of miles on it being at school. I'm only averaging 12k a year, which is average, but my father has put 26k on his since AUGUST lol. It's an 08 F150 and he just cracked 100k miles last week.

yeah I agree, my dakota is my best friend. If I treat her right, she'll treat me right. I even framed a couple 8 x 10 pictures of it and have them in my room. Everytime I see my truck or drive it I end up loving it that much more. I hope to keep it for the rest of its life. I love driving down the road in my truck and seeing another dakota or even dodge and having a mutual respect for eachothers vehicle. It may sound weird but this has happened many times where I've gotten a thumbs up from another dodge owner or they'll let me in on the on ramp or they'll park next to me and we'll end up talking for a while about the vehicles. Dodge owners are just flat out awesome, they dont care who you are and will still treat you like a friend.
