Default Jerky when turning in 4x4

2004 V8 dakota with about 54,000 miles

When in 4wd, it turns very hard and it is jerky. This happens no matter if it is dry or in the snow/ice.

I know I am due a transfer case oil change. Hopefully that would solve the problem. Just hoping I have not done damage by letting that go.

A new power steering pump was put in at 15k and at 30k, so by my calculations, I am due another ps pump. (but it wouldn't be a mopar)

That's pretty normal.

Just seemed a little too jerky for me.

I was in your neighborhood a few weeks ago.
Ate at a BBQ joint on Pulaski and an Italian place with the 10 pound meatball sandwich.
I have a friend there. We went to the Iowa-NW game. Go Hawks!

for a 4x4 this is normal. the front and back wheels can't travel the same speed in a turn so it binds up the suspension a little.

Unless you've got the AWD version, you shouldn't run it in 4wd on a dry or even wet road. Only use 4wd on Mud, Snow and Ice.

check your cv joints cause ... when a tight turn happens it puts stress on the universal joints in the cv joints if your running ifs which pretty sure that all are ifs except maybe 1st gen daks
