Default noise and grind at speed

Today the truck started grinding and shaking. when I let of the gas it stopped. The vibration was at the left front and it sounded like grinding metal.
It stopped, this afternoon it did it again. but then stopped, when I let of the gas.
I think wheel bearings but wouldn't that be all the time?
It's a "98 3.9l 2WD
Ideas. Thanks.

Jack up the truck and check the wheel it sounds like a wheel bearing mine would go away when making a turn and you could only hear it at 30mph or higher.

Yep it's wheel bearings. I just checked and tried to take apart to replace.long story short= the rotor is not being cooperative and I don't have an 1 1/2 inch socket so I will finish tomorrow when I have calmed down.
I also found out I need to replace the pads.
AINT THAT A BITCH!!!!

If the rotor wont come off just hit it with a hammer around where its stuck just dont hit to hard. Mine was on there pretty good but a few good whacks and it came right off. The hardest part on mine was the axle nut and I needed to get a 32mm socket for it.

I hit that rotor hard. I just put some penatrol on it. It can wait till morning. I'm glad you said you got a 32 mm I should get that instead of the 1 1/2 probably fit better. Thanks.

Yeah I had a standard and It was kinda loose so I figured if im going to be putting a lot of torque on it I should get the right size.
