So its not that solenoid. I replaced that this afternoon and the ticking was still there. Its also not a O2 sensor because I checked those. I'm at a loss guys; I have no idea.

It's the purge solenoid for your evaporative emissions system.

Are you sure the 'tick' is not an injector or injectors? I have a 'lope' at low speed, but the one thing i have not done yet is clean my injectors and they 'tick' very loudly..

Just FYI??

i have the same EXACT problem with my 99 dakota sport. It gets pretty loud after awhile. only isolated to the pedal just behind the dash. i have a bad O2 sensor though also.

My 97 does it as well. Im 99% sure mines from an exhaust leak tho. my headers flanges that connect to the y-pipe are corroded and rust as hell. need to replace the headers and y-pipe....

and solenoids make noise new or not most the time, it might just be a noise you have to get used to
