front end mystery.
yea, we got all 3 bolts off and axle nut when we were changing the half-shaft. when we tryed taking off the hub assembly and it wouldn't budge we said f**k it and undid the top a-arm to get the shaft out. but now it looks like we gotta break it all down again. a 12 pack and some swears should get it off... right??
Check your tranny mount when I turned left I had a grinding sound, the tranny mount **** out to the right side letting the drive shaft grind when turned left. Did you check the tranny mount yet????

sooo, just got home from replacing the hub and bearing. i still have the noise. tomorrow i plan on replacing the sway bar bushings because i already bought them a few days ago. could they be the culprit? i'm already into this for over $200, and could use a few more ideas.

well today i replaced the 2 outer sway bar bushings (the round ones). i also had the ambition the remove the front drive shaft to see if there was any change, which of course there wasn't. i know the pinion seal on the front differential leaks, and i also blow fluid up the front axle vent hose. could my pinion bearing be bad? or maybe something as stupid as control arm bushings (which are pretty worn) or my shock (which seems fine, but you never know). so i'm still searching and still taking ideas. thanks

mines doing it semi- regularly, i replaced the hose the other day hoping it will make a difference. today i cleaned up the mess under the hood and will keep an eye on it for more.
*update*: just came back from a short drive to the store and noticed something that i missed with the grind noise. it only happens when i'm on the pedal. as in, when im driving and it starts up if i take my foot off the gas it stops. anything?

could you try and make a video maybe? I know it can be a bitch usually to make an accurate video of what your trying to hear but it may help...i've been trying to think of anything and everything I can for you but nothing that you haven't done isn't coming to me haha
first i want to say thank you to everyone who had tips to help me out. finally seems that i got it all taken care of, and quite frankly, i'm embarrassed to say the cause. my exhaust. when i put in my flowmaster i noticed that one of the stock hangers had broken its weld, with the new muffler being so heavy we temporaraly used a coat hanger to hold up the exhaust. well that broke and the pipe was sitting on the cross-member that runs right under the passenger seat. at least i can say my money wasn't wasted, the cv boot did have a hole, and i'll call it preventitive maintence on the hub and bearings. plus the learning experience.
