The service manual shows a solenoid for overdrive.Maybe its something to do with that. And not trying to scare you but the automatic transmissions in these trucks have lots of problems so it may be something to you want to have checked out.

I have hard shifts from time to time. Mostly when it downshifts on an incline at lower speeds. Never into final drive though. I might would have it checked on.

Im taking a stab at it but what about adjust the band? Someone on here should be able to answer that. I've always heard a hard firm shift is better than a soft shift because for a soft gentle shift to happen the clutches have to slip so that adds more wear on the tranny.

well went to double a beepbeep mco today. they did a free scan/checkup. I have a broken spring in my valve body and my governor pressure switch is failing and blah blah. Full rebuild with a shift kit will run me 2600 and he said if i keep driving it expect to add another 500 on top of that. lol..not really funny but o well. but thank jesus for warranties. i appreciate all ur guys help on this. He also stated that there have been 9 updates to these valve bodies since they came out and mine has had zero updates so he said that once they repair it that this tranny will outlast the truck..god i hope so. haha. Another thing he said that these dodge trannys are just as bad as the ford e40ds, which made me laugh cuz my buddy whos a ford guy kept giving me the dodge sucks ****, well see. i know my 360 will BLOW his 351w outta the water.
