Default Gas Egg Smell?

97 Dakota 5.2 automatic 150k

The last couple of months I noticed a strong egg smell inside my truck and can't seem to figure out why it smells like egg. Also there's sometimes a real strong gas smell inside so could that be from my exhaust?

Oh does a 97 dakota have a fuel filter?

Thanks

The egg smell could be coming from your catalytic converter, additives in fuel build up and can smell like that. I would check out the cat. Your truck might be running rich or it could be a septate problem.

Look at it when its warm at night and see if it glows.I've never seen one glow myself but I have had a million people tell me they do if they are stopped up.

And the pump is inside the tank.

My friends dad has his Chevy blazer catch on fire one day when he was driving on the highway, it started smoking real bad so he stopped to find out what was wrong and by the time he got out and went around to the back to look under, there were flames, fire dep. said it was due to the cat backing up and getting super hot.
