Default Spent Christmas day changing my hub assembly

So I was driving home from work last night and started hearing a popping coming from my df tire. Then some of my road noise started cutting in and out(if that makes anysense).I thought all of that noise was coming from my tires but it turns out I was wrong.I got up this morning around 9:00 to check it out.I don't have a garage so I had to do it in the snow.Anyway I took the wheel off and wobbled the caliper and rotor and they had all kinds of play.I removed the caliper, slid the rotor off and wobbled the hub assembly. It felt like it was ready to fall off.I removed the axle nut and sure enough, everything just fell out on the ground.I had an old one laying around from a previous install on the other side that was still in pretty good shape so I put it in for now.Changing it reduced my road noise and vibration a lot.It kinda sucks I had to change it on Christmas but we don't get to choose when stuff breaks.

How did you get the actual housing off. I got the three bolts right off but then I couldn't get the housing out despite me trying to pry it with a crowbar.

I used a 3lb hammer and a set of chisels.I had to beat on the chisel forever. If you keep going it will come loose eventually.

Gottcha I kinda figured it was going to involve hitting things with a heavy hammer lol. Mine isn't as shot as yours but I'll be doing this in the next month or so.

You will need a bfh and a nice sharp strong chisel. When I did my truck it took longer to get the hub off because of rust than it did for the whole process. You have to work your way around it once you get a gap you will be almost done.

I used plenty of PB Blaster, the chisel and also the BFH. I beat on the back lip of the hub itself as well as the joint. Once you gain seperation just try to keep it even so it doesn't get jammed. I'd used a little more caution if your removing it to work on someting else, if not just "hit the damn thing"
Best tip I have is for getting at the back bolts. To make room for the socket push the axle shaft end IN with your free hand. This gives you the extra clearance needed to seat the socket solid and avoid slipping or rounding bolts.
