ok so the 5.7 hemi with tranny seems like its the one i will go for, is there anything else i will have to replace for this engine? im betting the motor mounts will have to be changed. do i have to change the tranny mounts?

how much would it cost for a mechanic to swap the engines?

what hemi should i look for?
year?
model?
im guessing it from a dodge vehicle

and should i find one with a 4wd tranny? or would a 2wd tranny do just fine? my truck is a 4x4

If you have a mechanic do it, they will charge you a couple thousand if not more. It's all labor and shop supplies, and at $75 an hour it adds up quick. Not worth it AT ALL if you having a mechanic do the work for you.

I'll do the swap.. Install the Motor and hook up the wires for $1,000.00..You'll need a Motor And Transmission- from 2003 to 2005 Ram-and the wiring harness with computer with it..How far are you from S.C..?I will charge $300.00 to weld the exhaust in. What I won't hook up for that price is the a/c and cruise control..You can see mine on Dakota Hemi Swap with pics..
Here's mine..

If you love your Dakota, as I do mine "It's WELL worth it , all day"..I would much rather have my Hemi Powered Dakota Quad Cab, than a Hemi Full size Ram..

you can edit the posts, look at ur post bottom right the the "edit" button.
but my questions are, were do i buy the wiring harness with computer, and are u talking about the hemi engine computer? and u said something about $300 exhaust, is that to buy the new headers and pipes not including install, or is that including installation?

im guesing that when this new motor goes in i will need new headers and pipes, will those headers and pipes fit to come out safely
