I just purchased the truck, and when I was driving home on the interstate, I occasionally would hear what sounded like a grinding noise from time to time, I thought it was the fan clutch.

I have tried it in nutral and in park, in low and in high going forward and backwards, nothing. The light will turn orange to show 4x4, but will not turn yellow like when in 2wd.

What do I know...I only drive one....no, really, I cant remember! I will have to check it out tomorrow...

Basically what I would do is turn the key on, in park. hang your head underneath and turn the ****. you will def hear the actuator going if it does anything. Youll have to go from there.

I put it in 4wd on snow, and the only tires spinning are the rear tires.

I have tried that.........vehicle in park, lean over to listen under truck.......I can hear something engaging, or at least it sounds like it is. I also can hear the same thing when I take it out of 4wd.
