Default weird feeling in brake pedal when in 4 wheel drive

I've noticed this before, but was never really concerned about it, but when I'm in 4 wheel drive and I'm stopped, I can feel a light sort of tapping through the brake pedal. This only happens in 4 wheel, never happens in 2 wheel. Anyone ever notice this before?

nope! Then again, im not on my brakes much in 4wd

If I get out this weekend for some wheelin, Ill see what I can find...Might just be a funny reaction with your trans(auto?) and a clutch that is intermittantly grabbing....never feel it thru drums, but disks to your foot is def easier...maybe. or, Maybe your toe is yelling at you to get off the brake

I only really feel it when I am at a dead stop, like a stop light or stop sign. Like I said, it's real light, but it's there. I'm looking for an extra transfer case and transmission at the moment, I have an old nissan maxima I'm trying to trade to a salvage yard for those parts, I just need the time to hunt. I was just under my truck last weekend, checking out linkages and greasing the few points I could find. Nothing seems loose or looks out of the ordinary. I'm going to change the fluid in the transfer case soon. If it is the trans, I don't understand why I don't feel it in 2 wheel drive.

Well, you dont have an engaged connection to your trans in 2wd. The pulse would just go to your rear. Most likely, lost in the rear drums, or tires. The reason you would feel it in 4wd is the transfer case is now getting the input from your trans, and you would feel it more. Remember, front is ~70% of your pedal. Also, remeber Im just theorizing...so, It could be something like a vacuum leak to your brake booster or somethign wierd...

My thoughts were a possible vacuum leak also.
