Default Dak got a color change this weekend!!!

I've been debating for months weather to do black wheels on my truck and thanks to thunder on here I finally made up my mind and got my wheels done. I must say it looks bad *** with black wheels. Sorry these pic are with my cell ill get better ones once I find my memory card for my camera. For those who are wondering I used plasti dip from lowes its like a little over 7.00 a can. EDIT: plasti dip is cheaper at home depot 5.98 I really dont like HD as much as lowes so if your like me and get it at lowes just ask them to price match they will be more than happy to price match. I got like 6.00 back lol

Very nice! I'm actually planning on doing that to my stock rims when I get new road tires for the rest of the year. I'll be putting my snow tires onto my steel cragars and the new tires on my stock rims. It'll be a perfect time to do so, that way I can paint the rims with the tires off during the swap.

Looks 100x better. I'll be doing the same in the summer. It really does give the truck an entirely different look. It makes it look beefier without changing anything but the color. Nice job.

I think when I do mine, I'll leave the center caps and first and see if it looks cool with the lugs and center caps all silver and the rest black. Not sure if it will make it look cool or not but I can always paint them after.

How much prep did you do? And did you put a clear coat on top?

God I wish my garage was that warm. I hate being in the garage in the winter. This morning it was -29F at school and there would be no way I would be in the garage lol.

I dont think it will look right without the center caps being done. As far as prep I washed them really good I spent like 20 min on each tire making sure all the brake dust and dirt was off. I didnt clear coat them I think you can if you want a shiny look but I wanted the flat look. My garage is only that warm thanks to a coal fire without it the temp would be about 20's

I was wondering if you could just touch it up if you had to or if you would have to strip the wheel and redo it and they better not be that cheap or ill be going back to lowes and they will be price matchin it.
