Default electrical problem

Hey guys so this morning when going to work i had my headlights on, i hit my right blinker and my wjndshield wipers came on and the dash blinker light stayed lit, i didnt turn the wipers on myself, when i turn the lights off or just the parking lights it doesnt do it and blinkers work fine, but now its stuck to where as soon as i turn on the lights the wipers start and right blinker lights up. Anyone think this is just in the turn signal switch or aomethin worse

my only guess is that its the ctm, central timing module. dont quote me on that but all the electrical stuff runs to it and out of it. there have been post about the ctm before and many times too. do a search for ctm posts.

It's probably a bad CTM, but before you spend $300.00 replacing it maybe check the Haynes Book for your truck. It will tell you how to test the turn signal/multi-function switch and headlight switch with a volt meter. If they test OK, it's probably the CTM but the only way to test the CTM for sure is at the dealer with the DRB scan tool.

If it only does it when the headlights are on then I'd check for a bad/corroded ground.

The headlights draw a lot of current and it will seek another route to ground.

It definitely is acting like a bad ground.

I'm looking at the 2000 schematics but they should be close.

Power goes to the headlights directly from the PDC. The grounds are switched to select hi/low beam. The ground for the headlights should be on the lower left side of the instrument panel.

I'd start here. The ground for the turn signal is located in the right front inner fender. It's more likely to corrode/break than the one under the dash.

Besides the multifunction switch, they all have C200, that big connector with the bolt just behind where your clutch pedal would be, in common.
