I'll be honest.. I stomped on it pretty hard and it seemed ok.. its just when I first started driving it felt like it was bogged down.. idk.. just was my first impressions of 'driving'.. once I took it out and got into it.. it seemed ok.. Maybee it was the wind? Maybee the computer needed to adjust? Honestly once i took it out.. i did not feel a difference when i stomped it.. I'll see how it goes..

what I did with my intake was 1. remove the resonator thing off of the throttle body (only with 4.7's) 2. got some 3" abs pvc and some couplers to run from the throttle body to the stock box 3. flat k&n filter in the stock box (stole it from my old jeep from my sister so it didn't cost me anything. it seems to be like a eighth inch to big but I got it to fit in there) 4. cut a big hole in the side of the stock box/took the thing off the front to let air flow right in the front of the box from the grill. Didn't notice a gain or loss only more noise so I would say its worth it plus it looks cleaner than an ebay ricer intake but that is to each their own. just my 2 cents and it looks like I saw this thread to late since you already made your own lol

I actually am just in the process of design.. have not really got to far along yet, and the Hat is a resonator? I was looking at the K & N ones and the others nad they are all *******ly the same for the most part.. interesting..

I will keep this in mind thanks! (Some times I miss my 81 Ford.. LOL!)

Only the 4.7's have the resonator the 5.2's hats are fine and dont restrict.

So just an update.. I think I must be on crack or something.. Been testing back and forth between the two filters.. I really do not notice a difference.. same power either way.. seems in certain band ranges there is a difference of MPG on the realtime.. and when I really get in it..

But over all seems a little more peppy in the mid range.. just a tad...

I will be starting my build out for this this weekend.. I will keep you posted on how it turns out.

If you keep changing them, your comp will be always changing, adapting to the diff airflows and temps...

Yeah really trying to see if I could figure out which one was the best for my truck, performance and MPG wise.. I'm seeing about the same MPG really overall.. with the high flow filters.. just seems a little boggy at times.. like its getting too much air.. but then again.. i also have a tornado on the truck.. was thinking about removing it with only the filter and resetting the computer.. and then driving for a bit
If i go WOT when i get off it.. and its coming down in rpm it sounds like a jet engine winding down..
