Question about changing Out 3.9 engine
My 99 Dakota engine had 236,000 miles and was drinking oil. Found another 3.9 engine in a salvage yard with only 75,000 miles on it. After I picked it up and got home, I read that it came outta a 98 Dodge 1/2 ton truck. I see that there are different engine mounts. Im thinking that Im supposed to keep my original engine mounts and change them over to the new motor....am I correct? Is there anything else that I should be aware of with the transmission bellhousing from a 1/2 ton to my dakota?...I am using my Dakata's transmission. Anyone else been here, done this and knows of any other surprises that Im gonna encounter. Your info help will be greatly appreciated.
