Ah gotcha, mine should be the same then. Mines a 99. I couldn't find anything about what they meant anywhere. This was a spur of the moment decision lol. I was against hid lights, but only because of the blue color. I had no idea will this post you could get them in other colors :/ I will definitely be purchasing a conversion kit, no more expensive than it is as soon as I can. Incase your wondering the 6000k is the color temp I will get. And thanks for your help, I don't know what I'd do without this forum

Default 4300k is the whitest

4300K is the whitest color you can get. I have 4300K HIDs on my VW Passat and they are quite bright.

Actually it isn't 4300k or 6000k. Pure white light is 5000k. 4300k has a yellow tinge and 6000k has a blue tinge.

OK, I'll chime in on this. Exact pure white is...4350k. Look up a light color temperature chart and that is the exact spot for white.

I am not an electromagnetic physicist so I have to rely on the industry. I was originally told by a vendor 4300 was the whitest I could buy, maybe that was the whitest THEY sold. I bought them and they are VERY white. Then I found this color chart:

Colour Temp (K) Colour Description: 3000k Yellow light (suitable for fog lights) 4300k White light with tinges of yellow. 5000K: PURE WHITE LIGHT. 6000K: White light with tinges of blue 8000K: Distinct blue color light 10000K: Bluish-green light 12000K: Bluish-purplish light.

it is from:
http://www.delonixradar.com.au/hid-x...lour-chart.php

So I am not sure what to believe. I think I will go with 6000k next because it is still VERY white and I like the slight blue tinge.
