buy the 9007 conversion kit from any car/truck accessory store. go with 6000K colour temperature its the whitest and brightest. if you want a blue tint go 8000K-10000K if you want purple 12000K-14000K.

This is where I got mine from
http://www.mydepots.com/55w-hid-kit-bixenon-p-12.html

I love them hardest part of install is figuring out where to mount the ballast at. I have mine by the front holes of the inner fender(by battery and air box) I also have this kit for my fog lights http://www.mydepots.com/normal-hid-k...-beam-p-1.html My truck sees off road pretty often and so far no problems with bumps or anything my girlfriend has them on her car and she hasnt had any problems. Oh also mine are 6k it still has a little blue to it but its more white.

Lol alright, and I don't mean to take this thread, but I will post the pictures later today. It looks cleaner... more than anything.

I was looking to convert to hid head lights too, for the price I think it's worth it. The only question I have is what's the difference between 9007, 9004, h4, and h13 bulb types. And which bulb type should I choose for my Dakota?

You cant just put any bulb in your truck you have to get the one that fits in your headlight. I think my 98 was a 9007.
