Default 06 intake manifold swap + 180tstat review

i will start with the 180 tstat which i bought at napa for like 11 bucks.the motor runs much cooler. for the 4.7 guys normal temp with the 195 it runs just left of dead center, with the 180 its just to the right of the left hash mark.

intake manifold: better accel, more power, feels awesome. when you go WOT at like 50 the rpms just shoot up like nothing. i cant say enough good things about it. it feels like a much different truck what the manifold. i would recommend buying one.

Anything like this for the 5.2L or just the Kegger Mod?

After hearing about how 180 stat effects gas mileage and seeing that you stated where the needle is makes me very curious...just how much can a 180 stat affect gas mileage? What are the numbers approximately?

My truck was bought used at the end of 2005, so I have absolutely no idea what the owner has done besides the obvious. I've never really thought about engine temps since I've never noticed it go above average, but seeing as you said the normal 195 is just left of the center...apparently mine has always been around the 180/185 mark, so the needle is about halfwayish between the marks. Now I'm not too sure how accurate the gauge and the needle are...but seeing that my gas mileage sucks *** and always has, and the fact the needle isn't to where you say they usually are...has me wondering if I should replace my thermostat with a new OEM 195 just to be sure.

I'm not worried, my truck never overheats and runs great. It's similar to your temp needle pos.
