Default Empty holes in 01 Dakota dash? Clip?

Hi everyone! I'm new, this is my first post.

I've got an '01 Dakota Quad and in the roof "kit" in between the seats there's a spot for a grarage door opener, sunglasses, and "clip". What the @#$@# is "clip" for?!?! I cannot figure out what good it does for anything!

Also, to the right and left of the stereo in the dash there are like 2"x2"x2" "holes" in the dash - can these be used for anything? I've got an original XM unit I'd like to mount - and there doesn't seem to be any good place to mount it - I don't really want to glue or put holes in the dash. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I used it to temporarily hold business cards, or dollars for tolls. Stuff like that.

Welcome to Dodge Forum.

You wouldn't be interested in a HD rubber bed mat for your QC, would you?

That "Clip" is a sunglass clip, but its usless when you have $135.00 Nike Sunglasses. Its made for those cheapy wire frame glasses. I use it the same as you do...I put business cards in it. And that 2x2x2 square whole is supposed to be for change and what not, but I've got a change dispenser in my center flip-back console.

Thanks ya'll - mopartodd, I've got a bed liner already - thanks.

Do ya'll know of any good way to mount a Delphi XP radio? Right now it's sitting on the floor facing up - right behind the change tray/cup holder area - in front of my seats. Tends to get a lot of accidental coffe spills, crumbs, trash, etc.

Thanks.

Since you're asking about the 2x2x2 holes in the dash I'm going to assume that you have a 2WD QC. The hole on the left contains the 4x4 electric shifter while the one on the right contains the passenger side airbag lock/unlock. The first is only on 4x4s while the second is only on non-Quad Cabs...

Well I'm glad someone clarified what the "CLIP" is for because I would always look at that thing and wonder what the hell you could put there. Do they even make sunglasses anymore that would fit in that thing. LOL I'm glad I'm not the only person who wondered.

I dont have a clip in my roof console. Might be because I have the homelink system?
