The guy who put a new water pump in my truck said that their was a hairline crack in it, didnt say exactly were but i assume near the water pump.
how long do you think i could drive it? and what would happen if i continued too?
also id like to double check this would low oil pressure confirm this? and what is the normal pressure?

I dont know much about them but I know that if the crack gets too big then you obviously have a problem. Since its small id get rid of it before it becomes a huge problem. sell it on craigslist because everything there is as is and you cant get railed if it has an issue.

Are you suggesting that he sell the truck without disclosing that it has a cracked block?

That is exactly what I am saying. What do you think craigslist is? just sell it for cheap and say you have to pay for some bills and the truck isnt a necessity.

What goes around... comes around. Being dishonest will, in one way or another, kick you in the ***.

I'd ask the guy how he came to the conclusion that there is a crack in your engine.

Obviously you have no experience with craigslist. Either way you can just say everything is fine with it and of the people choose to have a mechanic look at it then let them. other than that, just sell it for cheap and some mexican will buy it. You could also try to get a good welder to try and patch it up and that might make it last a bit longer.

did you think about finding a replacement motor and just doing an engine swap. if you start looking for a good engine now you might come across a good deal before you really need to replace it.

That too, but I can't imagine too many people selling a 1998 V6 Magnum engine. A good engine block could very well cost you as much or more than the truck is worth.

OP could probably find a good price on a good used block or maybe a good used engine at a good junk yard. They may even install the new engine too. It might be a lot cheaper than buying a new truck. They might even give him some trade-in value for his old engine too. If the rest of the truck is in good shape, a junk yard might be the better deal for him.
