Dakota missing on #3 cylinder

Default Dakota missing on #3 cylinder

2000 Dodge dakota 4.7 engine.Throwing P0303 code, engine running rough. Checked spark plug connections and connector to injector.Any suggestion?

Pull the plug, see what it looks like.

You could always swap a coil and see if the problem follows.

Yeah, usually on engines with individual coils, the coil is the root of any mis fire problems. But plugs are a lot cheaper so I would start by checking the plug and then like DakDan said, swap the coil with a working cylinder and see if the problem moves to that cylinder. Plugs and coils are really easy to do on a 4.7 so it shouldn't take long to figure it out unless its more of an electrical issue.

Switched coil from #3 cylinder to #1 problem followed giving a code of P0301. Installed a new coil, truck runs like new again.Thanks guys for the much needed help.

Good deal. At least it was a pretty easy fix and not a more complicated electrical issue. Those are my worst nightmare as they can be a pain to trace. Glad everything worked out.
