With my old bfg's I did burn outs all the time never saw any chunkin at all. Plus thunder only started burns outs after he did his cams which wasnt that long ago.

no they started chunking on the sidewall and on the tread long before i did burnouts. huge section out of the front tire is missing. soft rubber end of story.

Been following up on some of your suggestions and have a few on my wishlist, but I still can't figure out this blasted tire size thing.

I have 265/70R16 as my stock size. I want a bit of a taller tire (265/75R16) which all posts I've read seem to indicate that these'll fit on my stock ride (maybe with a little torsion bar adjustment.) All the tire calculators out there though only give me 31/10.5R15. I can't seem to find 31/10.5R16?

What am I not understanding here? I feel like a dork for asking, but I'll never learn anything if I try to use the lingo without understanding what I'm talking about.

you arent going to find anything standard size in a 16 inch rim like a 31 1050 16 they just dont exist. you are going to have to get metric size which is like the 265/70r16. the 265 is the width in millimeters, the 70 is the aspect ratio, so the height of the sidewall is 70% of 265 millimeters, and 16 obviously the rim size. stock size is 265/70r16 and is just over 30 inches tall and the 265/75r16 is about 31.5 inches tall. they are both 10.4 inches wide, so a 265/75-16 is about as close as you will get to a 31x1050 for a 16 inch rim. i run 265/75-16 on my 02 QC 4.7 and they look better than the stock size, fill out the fenders more. mine only barely rub at one spot in reverse, but it is just on plastic on the front bumper, nothing rubbing on the frame so its not a big deal. and over time is has actually stopped rubbing. it was so minor that i think the tires just shaved off a little of the plastic and they dont rub realy anymore. and i have not cranked the t-bars or done any suspension mods

Ohhhh! Cool. How's your gas mileage? How much more stress will the slightly larger size put on the drivetrain? I've got the Heavy Duty service package on the truck, so it's outfitted for towing, etc.

I love my Nitto Terra Grappler all terrains. They are good in snow, dirt, mud, whatever. No chunking what so ever. No weather cracking on the sidewalls. Only reason the front ones are wearing a little uneven is because my alignment is way the f*ck off. I don't feel like paying to get an alignment when I'm just going to replace my tie rods this spring and I'll need to do it again after that.

Awesome tire all around. Very good in rain. I have never hydroplaned with them, great in snow. Not just in acceleration but I can stop very well with these by either engine braking or regular braking and hardly loose traction and I only have rear abs (thank god...).

Best part is that they are about $50 a tire cheaper than the BFG's in a 265/70 size. At least they were when I bought mine almost two years ago.

I'll probably buy two new ones next fall before winter since the front ones won't be in the best condition but again they will have 40k miles on them by that time and half the time they were on the front with a terrible alignment.

I know Hammer ( a mod over in the Ram section ) has these on a vehicle too and liked them quite a bit.

I reaaly haven't noticed anything different compared to when i had the 70 series on,gas mileage is about the same like 13-14 city and almost 20 at 70mph and power hasn't been affected.

I don't think you'll have to worry to much about it. Both of those were my main concern in going from a worn 31" AT (only about 29.75 if you measured it) to a 32" Mud terrain. After having them for about 10K miles now I have seen a very small if any drop in MPG (I do, do a lot of HW driving though, to and from school) and even with cranking my torsion bars an inch. Which can result in things wearing out faster since angles change. I have not seen any abnormal wear on anything. My outter tie rod ends were cracked and had no grease so I did those and got it aligned before I got the new tires on. Other than that my ball joint's don't have any rubber on them but they don't move so as for now that was a previous problem im not worried about yet. Kind of a rant but I say go for it you shouldn't have anything to worry about especially since she is a heavy duty version.
