i had to change my lower rad hose ... and after that my truck started dumping coolant... i thought i might have overfilled it so i did what the manual said and checked the level at normal running temp which is in the middle for me. got it full and drove like 80 miles no problem , started down a trail and 10 mins into the ride it dumped again out of the pressure cap but it was barely over half on the gause. i am just wondering if my t-stat is stuck or whats going on cuz i dont wanna get stranded . thanks in advance for any tips

 

When you said it came past the cap do you mean it went over the the overflow bottle? If thats the case you prob just need a new pressure cap.

 

it appears to be dumping from the pressure cap and not going to the overflow tank. i dunno its a weird setup never had a vehicle before where the cap wasnt on the radiator

 

Sounds like a bad pressure cap. This happened on an Intrepid my parents owned. Is the seal on the pressure cap look bad? If so it's the cap, if not the spring can still be weak after years of use. They are not expensive you could just replace it and not be out much.

 

Its most likely your cap then. I forgot that your cap wasnt on the rad

 

the cap doesnt look too bad but im gonna go ahead and get another on e they are only like 5 bucks, but the spring inside the hose looks a little cpappy its got buildup on it i will look and see if i can also get one of those too
