Howdy, I am in Denton (just 30 miles north of Dallas). What area of the state are you in?

I have been tempted, on some of these deals, to finance a truck...but I just can't handle a car payment right now. After years of saving, and selling my 92 Silverado (2WD), I have decided to try something new. Plus, I would really like to start working on a truck that has ODBII :-) My silverado was a bear at first to diagnose issues (mostly vacuum leaks), but something I can hook my scanner up to will make tinkering a little more fun.

A co-worker of mine owns an '88 Chevy Blazer with the 6.2L diesel...that thing is a tank, and fun. I keep trying to talk him into converting it to biodiesel...that would be fun ;-)

What do you mean by lobe? Is it idling like crap? Do you have aftermarket cams in it?

Seems to be for the 97-00 models a common issue when searching online but none have seemed to fixed or if they did, at the least posted what they did to fix.. so I've been keeping track on that thread in hopes i will fix my issue and others can actually see a thread with a fix on it..

And I'm North of Houston Area.. probally 200Miles (ish) south of you..

Have you looked on Auto trader or yahoo down in Houston area? CL? You might* find a deal worth driving down for?? IDK just a suggestion.. ??

 

I have a couple of "email alerts" setup with some programs that I downloaded, these tell me about new/updated posts to Cars.com/AutoTrader/CraigsList/MSN and so on. So you never know man, there might be a sweet enough deal to get me down there, and that would naturally give me an excuse to put some hands on your shutter issue! :-)

That first one is nice, my program didn't catch it cause it was just outside my 5-7k setting, but still nice, and worth a shot on haggling

The second and third one are dead on, and I am trying to think of a plan to take off friday and drive down, but I never got a call back from the first person (the one with the check engine light), and I have not called on the third one.

Good finds man! Thank you again, I am starting to get fired up. It's odd how that third one does not have the fog lamps, almost like the bumper is an aftermarket or a replacement. And I could have sworn that should be a chrome bumper, since it is the SLT package...never the less, if I can make it down I will run a carfax on it.

 

I seen a few around when i was getting mine.. that did not have the Fog's..
