Welcome to the forum. You will constantly find new tips and tricks about your truck here. The problem you encountered is actually quite common for a lot if different makes and models of cars. A very common remedy for this is a pretty simple yet effective tool that can be found at most auto parts stores. It is essentially just a 9v battery wired to an accessory plug (cigar lighter) that you can plug into tour car before removing the battery. this will keep all the info in your cars computer from getting lost while the battery is out. on most vehicles it will also save radio stations and seat and mirror settings. cost is usually about $5 or it's actually quite easy to make your own.
