Well i just drove from norfolk virginia to spring hill tennessee, 12 hour drive. And i averaged 19 the whole way making a 700 mile trip on 2 and a half tanks and thats with the 5.9 plus im putting an e-fan on this week so hopefully i can hit 20 mpg on the way back

295 miles and 16.2 gallons= 18.2 mpg. i havent seen that # in years.

 

And, you have a beautiful truck and you probably dont have a 600+ truck payment. What Im hearing is the newer trucks get maby three mpg better, O.K. lets say you deive to work and travel 150 a week. thats 600 ok Do the math the old truck is stilla better deal.

That's about what my father does too. ~800mi a week. Seems like I'm changing the oil once a month or so and we do it every 5000 miles on his truck. His 08 F150 already has 120k miles on it. My father-in-law also does a ton of driving. His 06 F150 has 205k miles on it already.

 

I just came back from a trip to Asheville NC and back.The trip is about 700 mile round trip.I did average around 16.5 to 17.3.I really do feel that is a very good average.My truck is a Quad Cab, 4x4 with 3.55 gears.I know that the Tahoe I sold to get this truck was about the same fuel mileage.I think that most people that worry about gas mileage should have something else.These Toyotas and Nissans are getting close to the same if not worse gas mileage.
