I would agree that 14 to 15 seems to be the magic number for the V8 Dakotas...

I have a cc, sb, 5.2, 5sp 2wd. I actually like it a lot better than I did my R/T. I have been turning it into an R/T clone with wheels, flairs, and a conservative drop. I tend to get between 18-21 mpg on the highway with a 3.92 rear.

Just a guess though as I don't have a 5.2. I usually get between 16-17 with my 4.7

welll here something else im been thinking, i dont want to buy it and then regrete selling the ram and beeing out of a 4x4... although i have pros and cons to the ram.

-still strong for having 145xxx on it
-has 5.9 shift good lots of power but motor devoped a tick "thinking a colappsed lifter"
still on stock motor, tranny and rear end. prob will soon have to tear the motor apart and do new lifter and spring ext...
-it is the slt with nice bed liner tarno cover.
i have alot of money invested prob 6k with motor mods, body work, vipercowl hood and exhaust system.

so even if i do sell the ram i could prob get 8 or 9 for it and buy the ddakota for 4 and still have 4 to put away and prob spend 2 k on the dakota for new lsd and 3.92 for pittsburgh winters for its a 2wd !

hmm what do you guys think ?

dakots

its bone stock never modded or beaten.
has 77 thousand
5 speed
5.2 motor
better mileage
2wd

Im just a lil east of you and I know winter gets pretty nasty at times. If it gets bad enough you could throw snow tires on it and some weight in the bed. I am in the same position as you. I wanna sell my truck but I have so much money into it and only thing not 100% on the truck is the tranny(80% ok lol) I know everything that has been done to it and I bought it at 73k now 91k. Its a tough decision thats for sure.

Im an hour from Philly and personally wouldn't buy a 2wd truck unless I have a 4wd for winter time as well. Thats just me but you might regret it even though you will see a pretty damn good increase in MPG haha

how the would the tranny be in this truck, been reading that some peple say shifting the 5 speed on these trucks is like shifting a dump truck. is there racing clutches for these trucks.
