Default Best Spark Plug?

So I bought the OE Style Resistor type plugs and frankly it feels like the truck is running worse, loss of power and such.

I read the Resistor being it resists the flow of energy will spark slower.. vs. a standard plug that will pass slightly quicker and suposedly ignite fuel faster.

So What do you guys think the best option is and what do you run?

Resistor type as the OE Calls for or Non-Resistor type..

I'm planning on swapping these out... and grabbing NKG's..

5.2L 97'.. OE

What plug will give me the best performance and burn efficiency

Personally, on a '97, your best bet is a straight up copper plug...Autolite or something like that...

No reason to go and get all fancy...I have had reduced performance with platinum plug, FWIW...

Go out and either get autolite 3923's or a ngk plug. Mangum motors are very picky to what plug they like. I have 3923's in my truck yes they are a cheaper plug(15.00 for all 8) but my truck loves them. I did see a increase in mpg but my last plugs were stock with 80k on them and gaps ranging from .40-.60

NGK works very well in the Magnum engines. I read that Autolite has quality and construction problems now. I put NGK's in the stock heat range in my 3.9 a couple months ago and it runs great.

i had ngk iridium ix in my 5.9 and it pinged really bad, switched to autolights 3923 and went away , runs smoother also ! also reccomend changing stat to a 180. magnum motors run a lil better with the 180 instead of the 195 ! still hot air in the winter
