Default Quick transfer case fluid change question

I know that its supposed to be filled to the bottom of the fill plug. Question is, how many quarts is it supposed to take?

Not in the owners manual or haynes manual but I heard around 2.5 quarts.

Truck is an 02 v6

Thanks in advance

be careful with the drain and filler plugs. they are brass and can strip easily. use that white plumbers tape stuff if you can around the thread.

Well I took off after you said 2 to 2.5 quarts..lol

So I get there drive up on ramps, drain it, drive off the ramps put the plug back in and fill and it only took 1.5 quarts if that. Weird. It was pouring out of the fill plug so I was like whatever and plugged it and called it a day.

And thunder, you should get a front drive shaft...I know I know you'd rather spend on other mods and your new engine BUT I didn't realize how much I missed it until I got my new one and put it in. 4x4 FTW!!

dude i feel dumb. i thought 2.5pints said 2.5 quarts in my haynes manual! sorry man!

the only reason i would consider buying a new driveshaft would to get better off the line traction

i hope you can return the extra bottle you didnt use. ahhh sorry dude

doesn't the truck have to be level when filling the transfer case to the fill hole??
