Default '98 Dakota keep dying

I'm trying to help out a friend that has a '98 Dakota with the v-6 engine. It's keeps dying, about once a day and it will start right back up but is very rich, kind of flooded. Anyone had this happen? Any idea where to look first? He replaced the cat a while back.
Runs good until it dies.

I'm not sure, I'll check with him to find out. I did put my OBDII scanner on it a while back and I didn't see anything that caught my eye. The coolant temp sender was reading correct, and the map sensor was giving data, I'm not sure what is correct on it, but it wasn't reading zero anyway.
Thanks for your help guys.

ok if it at idle its going to sounds dumb but check the battery termals they lossen up and the dodges cant remember idle so they run up the road fine but stall out at idle.

We're going to check out everything first thing in the morning. He did say it dies mostly at idle but sometimes it's not. Sometimes it's hard to start. I also found out he put a new muffler not a cat on it a while back, so maybe it's clogged? I'll give the terminals a good cleaning first to eliminate that, and then I'll check the data of the map sensor to see if it looks legit, I can't remember what the values were, but I can compare them with my '97 Ram and see if they look right.
Is there a way to check the IAC?

check your fuel pressure while you are at it. i had a car not a dodge that would do that and it had a weak fuel pump. the computer would compensate for the low fuel pressure and then at idle the fuel pump was able to keep up and would confuse the computer and it would dump a bunch of fuel. got no codes with the weak fuel pump. another thought fuel filter??

Good idea, I'll check that as well.

Well the positive battery cable was a little dirty, cleaned it up really good. Map sensor is putting out the same readings as my Ram, so I don't think we have a problem there.
I checked the fuel pressure after he showed up at my house, and it read 42lbs. with the key on, about 46 lbs running and then 44 after he turned it off. Seems low to me, what is the correct pressure? Couldn't find a fuel filter, is it in the tank?

I think its supposed to be 45-52 while running then like keep pressure 10 or 20 min after shutting off. Waiting for jimmy to reply I know he knows it. Also the filter is on the fuel pump it cant be changed unless the whole pump is changed.
