Default speed sensors.

Does anyone know or have access to the procedures for installing and setting the vehicle speed sensor on a truck with the manual trans. I can't seem to find anything specific.

You mean the one on differential? There really isn't a difference as to installation, at least in 2000.

1. Remove the brake line mounting nut and remove the brake line from the sensor stud.
2. Remove mounting stud from the sensor and shield.
3. Remove sensor and shield from differential housing.
4. Remove the electrical connector.

Install:

1. Connect harness to sensor, make sure the seal is in place.
2. Install 0-ring on sensor
3. Insert sensor into differential housing.
4. Install sensor shield.
5. Install sensor stud mounting nut and tighten to 200 inch pounds.
6. Install the brake line on the stud and install the nut.

There are no procedures as to setting a gap.

No, this is a 97. No sensor in the diff. Mine is located in the transmission and aligns with a gear in the tailshaft.
