So long
It's been a nice 4 years or so, but the rising gas prices have made me downsize so that I can continue with one of my few vices (fishing) the thought of putting $60.00 or so into the Dak forced me to make a decision.
The fish won out.
I bought my first new vehicle since 1977. A Mitsubishi Outlander. Four cyl (2.4) rated at 22 city and 27 highway. It' rated at 1500 lb towing capacity, which will be plenty to pull the fishing barge around,.
I'll check in from time to time.
Fight nice while I'm away.

I can't blame you for not wanting to fill up the Dakota. I'm just lucky enough to be at school and I really don't HAVE to go anywhere up here, but sometimes I just ended up bored on weekends and go for a nice drive through the mountains. But I don't think I'll be doing that anytime soon.

My truck has been getting about 15 mpg.I fill it up every 2-3 days.Costs about $50 every time and it sucks.I've thought about getting something else but I just cant get rid of the dak.I just bought a superchips so maybe that will help out mileage a little.
I always say if the truck is paid for then there is no point unless you can get both the cost of fuel to run and the car payment (If you have get one) under the cost of just fueling the truck..
Most the time you'll find you save money by fuel costs alone vs. having a car payment and the fuel costs even if they are decreased..
Just IMO... unless you get lucky

Just filled the Mitsu up for the first time. $40.00- or so-went 288 miles. Figured out to 25.2 mpg. I can buy a lot more night crawlers at that rate.
Got the factory trailer wiring harness and Curt hitch- this weekend's project if the arthritic back co-operates.
I do miss having the Dak, but I would miss not fishing as often this summer more.
