They don't have a lot of power stock but it's a diesel so you can run high boost and not have to worry about because the blocks are bullet proof.

Ahhh... Nothin like the sweet smell of diesel. don't forget the smoke too, the best part is smokin people out. Plus a diesel dak would get awesome mpg. If I had a 4x4 I'd consider doing this swap somewhere down the road, maybe someday if I have another dak I'll do it in that one lol. Good luck with the swap man!

I think it would be cool because it would last forever and get close to 30mg I would say.

I got the motor from a family member who works on airport equipment - tugs, power carts, etc. It was an oddball motor not like any of the ones he has in his equipment inventory. Had to do the minor work and have probably $600 in the parts I have now - not including the Mig welder and the torches I've needed but have used this project as an opportunity to acquire!

The fuel mileage is a major reason I'm looking at it as well - looking for 30+ mpg but I think I'll have to swap out my diff gears to get thap. The plan for now is to see how my 3.92's do and iron the bugs out of the motor swap itself then look into drivetrain improvements. My truck is in excellent shape cosmetically so I hope to have it for quite awhile - even so I expect the motor to outlive the body/frame.

diesels usually do outlast the body. The only problem spot on diesels is the turbo. The turbo might not outlast everything but it's not a huge deal if you know how to take care of it yourself which I would assume you do seeing you are swapping the engines yourself. This is a pretty cool build. Definitly take lots of pictures and keep us updated!
