whos installed factory navigation
Hmm. well, im going to say plug and play, other than adding an extra antena. I would expect that they basically only have one harness, and the other plugs are just unused. That's about the only option I didnt get...I mean, to me, I use my phone, or $100 buys a nice Garmin.
might be worthwhile to get a aftermarket unit since you're dropping money on it, do your whole sound system.

ya i had a nice garmin setup but my truck got broke into a while back and just never got another one just thought it would be nice upgrade but from what i understand is your stock radio connection plugs in then install the other antanna and plug it in and how well do they work
We have nav in our 04 grand cherokee and never compared the plugs to other grands but Im pretty sure they are way different. Also there is no antenna on our jeep(must use the factory radio anetenna). The other thing I have noticed is you need proper ventilation our unit has a fan on the back and I can see why because it gets hot after awhile of driving. I dont know if aftermarket versions are the same like needing a fan or not.
We have a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan with the Factory Navigation (which is the same as the Second Generation Dakota) and the first problem is the Screen is way to small (4 1/2 ").The second problem is that the Navigation Disc are about $150 and they have to updated once a year. So I am just going to use our Navigation and stick it to the window,it is a lot cheaper.
Yeah we got our last one 3 years ago for 50.00 on ebay and you only need to update it every year if you use it a lot, ours barely gets used. I drove to fl and didnt use it lol

A stock one or aftermarket? Ive never messed with a aftermarket one but im sure its not that hard to learn. Our grand cherokee one is easy to operate. I would talk to a car aftermarket place like we have a park audio place that does all that stuff(audio, remote start and so on) so they would know what all needs to be done to get it to work right.
