you have no codes? or the codes are for emission related and your not interested in fixing them? any who you could always pull the bulb in the dash

the CEL obviously comes on for a problem, as far as i know there is no code for "high mileage" so pull the code fix the problem and it will go away

Do you know how to check for the code? It doesn't just come on because of certain mileage, it comes on because something it's just right. Turn your key to the on position (not actually starting the truck) then off, then on, off, on, off. Three times. Then a code will display in the odometer. Either look it up or let us know what it is and we'll tell you the problem. It's probably something minor but it should be attened to.

Or visit any auto parts store and borrow their code reader, all you need is a drivers license or credit card as collateral until you bring it back. you can clear the code with a code reader too

You can clear the codes by removing the negative battery cable and turning the ignition on for 20 seconds. But if there is a problem the code will just come back. You will be better off just fixing the problem as others have said.

unless you know someone that is good with computers and owns a motus whom is willing to shut the monitors off in the computer. your going to have to fix the issue. weather it be a cat and o2 sensor or an evap leak. most of the time the fix is easy

Mine did the samething and has now eventually stayed on. I'll get a new gas cap soon and hopefully the issue will be resolved.
