i maybe getting a free tonneau cover
im hoping the lasy replys to my email she had a free one she bought a few years ago and dosnt want it has all the stuff for it and everything ready to go i would just have to paint it
Nice! I love mine, IDK about the gas mileage claims with the cover (at least the fiberglass ones because they're so heavy) versus no cover or snap on ones, but it is nice to be able to lock stuff back there and not worry about people taking it. Do you know what brand?
We have a extang snap on one on our ram and its great, sucks in the winter time but its not off that often. Im pretty sure it has a 5 year warranty on the cover and 10 year on the frame which we only paid 150 for it so thats awesome. As far as increase in mpg you wont see any it will be such a small increase it wont show maybe at most a .5 increase.
nice, ive wanted a soft cover, as far as them saving on gas didnt mythbusters bust that a few years ago?

mine is a century and yeah painting it shouldn't be too bad. Mine is basically like this: http://blueoxoutfitters.com/images/p...ea%20Cover.jpg . So it's not like one of the small thin fiberglass ones I've seen that just sort of lays on the top. It weighs a lot. Lol only had it off once so far and scratched the body paint putting it back on... be careful. Off topic, those little paint repair things that they sell at autozone work great. You just gotta know the color name and you find the mopar section of them and your color.
Yes I remember watching it only did the mesh gate have the most improvement. Tailgate up was better than down. I think it all has to depend on conditions. They tested it on the dakota if I remember correctly. We had a 02 f150 4x4 ext cab 4.6 v8 averaged about 16mpg which wasnt bad at all. Bought a extang cover and saw up to 1mpg increase I dont know if it was just luck some tanks were lower than others and some were higher like I said it really all depends on conditions.
