Question Clutch replacement

Hey guys, new to the forum...but not new to forums in general being that I have like 6 vehicles lol.

99 Dakota 4x4, 5 speed, 5.2

Currently in process of pulling the tranny. Anybody pulled the crossmember that tranny mounts to? It's kickin my *** and I cant get it out, seems like its stuck in the frame. I can smack it around with a 2lb hammer and have gotten it to move back about 1/2 an inch, but it just doesnt want to come down.

Anybody else dealt with this before? Do I just need a bigger hammer? Or do I need to spread the frame with a porta-power?

Thanks!
Matt

Thanks man, I was able to get it out today...I guess I was just tired and frustrated yesterday. Tranny is resting on a jack now, waiting for my friends tranny jack adapter to drop
