Unhooking Electrical Connectors
Okay now youre really gonan see how green I am lol
On my 99 Dakota that has the electrical connectors with the little red locking tabs (one rounded one more square), HOW DO YOU UNLOCK THEM??? Do they both push in or out or do you slide them both one way ???
Thanks, Old John T in Indiana
PS I still dont know, does the cruise NOT work unless I get the tach working first??? Or can it work even if the Tach doesnt??? I think I will try that speed sensor located on top the rear differential first maybe IF I CAN OPEN IT LOL

Thanks Thunder, Now do you know which way I should "be able to slide that red tab out" ????? It has one square side and the other is slightly rounded, I guess I will just have to try each direction until it slides out as you say...

nice links ramguy! those links may also help the guy the racoon chewed off his wires down to the connector. @ old john, you should be able to push the red retainer toward the square side(from the rounded side), then pinch the connector release tab as shown in one of the links. i deal with alot of these connectors on the underside of seats and steering colums. they can be a beotch if your unfamiliar with them, good luck.
