i got a set of used magnesium valve covers from thunder as mine has the plastic ones and i took them to my buddy and he is working on polishing them and damn are they coming out nice looks close to polished aluminum ill post some pics tonight with them in the works
and the only bad thing about these is that cast magnesium leaves some little casting marking in the material some are worse then others but not to bad thats one thing and it takes quiet a bit to polish them correctly we had acid washed them then used mag cleaner sanded with 180-220-320 -400-and 600 wet/dry and then started a series of diffrent polishes and what not that one side thats dont has about 6 or so hours into it
yea i bet it is a bit of a pain to get em looking good, i think if i get a set ill just hit em with some paint silver is what im thinking, its just hard to find a set reasonably priced went to my junk yard and all they had was 5.2L's
