loose

what is the shaft between the front differential and the transfer case. Mine is loose and rattling around i have a 2001 4.7 4x4

umm sounds like you mean your front drive shaft?????

Its most definetly your front driveshaft and it sounds like your u-joints are bad. The u-joints are what connects the driveshaft to the differential
