Default a/c problem ...

ok i'm working on a 98 sport edition and on the high pressure side line the service port is leaking. You cannot replace the shrader valve and they've quit making the part. Is there any way I can fix it? Or is there a way you can block it off because you can service the a/c through the low pressure side.
thanks!

Your right,. They DON'T make that part anymore.
I know, I went thru the whole thing of trying to
replace my leaking port. You have to pop for the
WHOLE line assembly and, that's not cheap!
The thread is also different than chevy or ford too.
The R-134 retro kits don't have a replacement port
either. Just ford and chevy.
You CAN block it off and just use the low side but,
I didn't want that. I also didn't want to pay for a
whole replacement line just because Mopar stopped
supplying a replacement port or, because the After-
market companies dropped the ball on reproducing
the part too... I ended up hitting the bone-yards
taking five or six out of Dakotas with the same system.
Only ONE of those six didn't leak!! What a crappy design!
Why the valve is not replaceable is beyond me.
Oh, and by-the-way, if your cap has a good O-ring in it,
it WILL keep the port from leaking quickly. ( Like a summers
worth of time).
